We Work With Data

Steve Taylor began his career in Market Research with Digitab (Taylor Nelson’s specialist data bureaux) in 1987. Since then he has worked for several different specialist analysis bureaux and market research agencies, working in particular on media, readership and online studies.

He was elected to the committee of the Association for Survey Computing in 2003, a body that unites specialists from commercial, educational and governmental research. He has since become Vice-Chairman of the organisation, hosting a conference at Imperial College in April 2006 on presentation and dissemination techniques and more recently, chairing a Q&A session with some of the leading lights of the MR software industry.

Steve set up his own consultancy, Inputech, in 2004 in order to follow specific new areas of interest to him, including software design and general MR consultancy, in addition to his well established skills as a Market Research Analyst. After five and a half years and over two hundred and fifty projects, he founded We Work With Data with Mike and Antony, with whom he had previously worked, at The Harris Research Centre in the mid 1990s.

Away from work, Steve devotes time in varying amounts to his family, music and football.

Mike has held significant technical positions throughout the course of his career in market research. He was Technical Director for the NOP Research Group; DP/IT/Systems Director for Sofres UK (Harris Research), where he was also a member of the Sofres Operations Board; Technical Director at Research International UK, where he was also a member of the Research International Global Operations Board.

During his role at R.I., he was a key member of the R.I. Desktop Workbench project, which worked in collaboration with the SPSS development team developing Vision 2000 technology (the precursor to PASW/ SPSS Dimensions). The Workbench was an R.I. strategy to implement a production stream to feed SPSS processing power on every executive’s desktop.

Mike was elected onto the Committee of the Association for Survey Computing in 2004 and has been a judge on MRS / ASC Technology awards ever since.

Mike is a recognised expert in the fields of data integration, analysis, reporting and database design.

Away from work, Mike has a keen interest in cinema.

Antony began his career in market research in the early 1990s with BMRB. He worked with Mike and Steve at The Harris Research Centre during the mid-1990s before leaving to head up the DP Department at Fieldwork International, the wholly-owned subsidiary of ISIS (which then became Synovate Healthcare).

Antony headed the CATI and DP teams at the 24 hour 140 seat RONIN Corporation international call centre in London. He was Director of Data Services and member of the Executive Management Team at Research Now, responsible for the migration from Askia to Confirmit. He also established the outsourcing relationships with overseas DP and scripting providers.

Away from work, Antony has keen interests in food and cycling, preferably together, and plays football.
